We all hit walls sometimes. Those invisible barriers that stop us from starting, finishing, or even believing we can pull something off. They’re not real walls, they’re mindset blocks. And once you see them for what they are, you can start tearing them down and actually get where you want to go.
These are the most common mindset blocks people face in life, business, and everything in between, and what you can do about them.

1. The “I Don’t Have Time” Block
Time is the excuse that never dies. Everyone swears they’re too busy, but here’s the truth: people make time for what they really want. The first step is admitting that “I don’t have time” usually means “it’s not my priority.” If your goal matters, you’ll find a way.
If you’ve ever binged a whole season of something in one weekend (and we know we all have) you know the truth: time isn’t missing, it’s misplaced.
The trick is to track where your hours actually go. You’ll probably find more gaps than you think and that is time that could be redirected toward your goals instead of wasted on autopilot.
2. The Fear of Failing Block
Fear is the most common mindset block out there. You stall, you procrastinate, you plan forever but never start.
Why? Because failing feels like proof that you’re not good enough. The fix is simple but brutal: accept that failure is part of the work. Every mental block you smash brings you closer to something that actually works.
The wild part is that failure is usually way less dramatic than you think. Most of the time, people don’t even notice when you mess up.
What they do notice is when you keep going. Every attempt chips away at fear until it has nothing left to hold over you.

3. The “I Need the Perfect Plan” Block
This one keeps people stuck forever. You tell yourself you’ll start once the plan is flawless, the timing is right, or the stars align.
Spoiler: they never will.
The first step is just to start. Plans can change. Momentum matters more than perfection.
Overplanning is just another form of procrastination. You convince yourself it’s productive, but really you’re delaying the work.
Action teaches you what the plan can’t. Every misstep gives you information you’d never learn sitting still with a notebook.

4. The “Other People Will Judge Me” Block
This mental block is about worrying what your friends, coworkers, or strangers on the internet will think.
Newsflash: people are too busy dealing with their own blocks to obsess over yours.
The second you stop needing approval, you finally free yourself to go after your goals.
Here’s a hard truth: the people judging you probably aren’t the ones doing anything impressive themselves. Critics rarely outwork creators.
When you realize their opinions hold no weight in the big picture of your life, their voices start to fade fast.

5. The “It’s Too Late for Me” Block
Maybe you wasted a year, or ten. Maybe you think your chance already passed. But this is just another mindset block playing tricks on you.
The only time that’s truly too late is when you’re six feet under. Until then, the first step is always possible.
Some of the best stories out there are from people who started “too late” by society’s standards.
A business launched at 40, a new career at 50, a creative passion at 60. Starting later often means you bring more experience, discipline, and grit to the table.

6. The “I Should Be Further Ahead” Block
You look around, compare yourself to people who seem more successful, and spiral. This mindset block tricks you into believing you’re behind, when really you’re just on your own timeline.
Forget the fake deadlines and focus on your own progress, not someone else’s highlight reel.
The idea of being “behind” is built on comparison, and comparison is a moving target. The bar shifts every time you look at someone new.
If you only measure yourself against yesterday’s version of you, the wins become obvious and motivating.

7. The “I’ll Do It Next Year” Block
This one is procrastination wrapped up in optimism. Next year, next month, next Monday. Always later.
But waiting is the most dangerous mindset block because it steals your life one delay at a time. The only way to break it is to do something -anything! – right now.
The danger with postponing is that “next year” becomes a habit. If you always kick things down the road, you train yourself to believe action can wait.
Flip that script by starting with something so small it feels almost silly and you’ll be shocked how quickly momentum builds.

Mindset blocks are sneaky. They sound like logic, but they’re just mental blocks keeping you small. The first step to smashing them is noticing when they show up in your own head. After that, it’s about action – tiny, messy, imperfect action that proves to yourself you can move forward.
Bad Attitudes is all about ripping through the excuses and calling things what they are. Your goals aren’t out of reach, you’re just dealing with blocks.
Knock them down, and the life you want starts to open up.
