Oh c'mon PSymbol. He wasn't "taking their pieces of silver." He was a press guy on a government foreign assignment for a salary of thruppence ha'penny during war time. Yes, he would have been a hero had he blown the whistle then — probably an arrested and imprisoned hero with grave charges against him.
At this stage of the game, I am grateful that at least the story, and the story behind the story, is getting out.
