Don Siegelman was the best and most honest governor we've had in my lifetime. As an Alabaman I know that's a low bar but Don would have been a credit to any state. It's a scandal that President Obama didn't put him on that long list of prisoners he pardoned at the end of his administration. Sometimes I think Obama is a Republic, as you say. (I assume that wasn't a typo!)
Obama can't help it, Sally. He's half white.
It's strange how the two parties have sorted themselves out. It used to be that the racists were spread between the parties, for example, but that's obviously no longer the case; they've congregated in congenial circles. What's stranger is that the criminal use of power is now so concentrated in one party. But of course authoritarians are much more interested in authority than legality, so the sorting is accurate in that regard.
If only Obama had... But then, if only he hadn't been so timid from the get-go.
