Many years ago some Droogs tried to steal my 1965 VW-Beetle (the real thing). They jimmied the small side window (dead easy), got in and tried to break the steering lock.
Now that was a massive thing. I don't think anyone ever managed to break one, except maybe Muhammad Ali or Arnold Schwarzenegger, and why should they have gone to the trouble. These cars were junk at the time, cheapest thing on the used cars market.
Well, the stubborn Droogs wouldn't give up - until they stomped on the brake pedal so hard they busted a brake pipe. Thus refined were the anti-theft devices in 1965 ...
I still own this car for sentimental reasons - honouring mind over matter, so to say.
The real damage was done later by the police looking for fingerprints. They used soot at the time. Found any number of my prints, too.
Well, what I wanted to say: Droogs are Droogs, and any half intelligent car can outwit them, even a 2002 Corvette.
