Better is Good
Today former President Barack Obama spoke to students at the University of Illinois. Read it.
And let me tell you something, particularly young people here, better is good. I used to have to tell my young staff this all the time in the White House, better is good. That’s the history of progress in this country—not perfect, better. The Civil Rights Act didn’t end racism, but it made things better. Social Security didn’t eliminate all poverty for seniors, but it made things better for millions of people.

Do not let people tell you the fight’s not worth it, because you won’t get everything that you want. The idea that, well, there’s racism in America, so I’m not going to bother voting, no point—that makes no sense. You can make it better. Better’s always worth fighting for…
There is one dimension to Obama, projective identification.
And with him, it's a fairly onerous expression of this psychological concept, that of 'acquisitive projective identification'. I mean here we are listening to author of the strongest, starkest division this country has known, financial, telling us we shouldn't fall for Trumps brand of division. Applying Obamas brand of unity which bailed out the economic elite exclusively worked out so damn well for the opioid-addicted, Catholic priest buggered citizens of western Pennsylvania. However, Barack goes full bore with his psychopathological expression by implying a favorable association between his economic efforts and the historical record of FDR. We'll never know whether Franklin would have been seduced by unlimited presidential power through Predator Drone Assassination Selection Board Tuesdays had this remarkable tool been available as it was to U.S. President Barack Obama; drone assassination is and was perhaps his signature tool in the murder of men, women, and children, the 16yo son and 8yo daughter of Anwar al-Awlaki notwithstanding.
Well said Rich. I guess I would add that Obama seems to have taken narcissism to new heights.
