Oh, yeah?

A wristwatch that once belonged to the late Paul Newman, a movie star, was just auctioned for $17.8 million:

“The significance of this watch cannot be overstated,” said Paul Boutros, a senior vice president with Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, the watch auctioneer.

Thank God we have tchotchkes like this to separate the obscenely rich from significant chunks of their money, since it appears that taxes never will.

Yours very crankily,

Donald Trump said the killer in Texas was mentally ill. He's not a psychiatrist, and even if he was, I wouldn't trust anyone who doesn't leave American government now unless they are trying to change it. The killer targeted the people in that church and killed them. Official American policy, coming from the top, advocates targeted killing.
Hitler targeted the Jews for killing. See the 130 page ACLU report about this problem, and such things as Starr Chambers in America.

Wikipedia says targeted killing is a euphemism for assassination. BP says assassination is a euphemism for murder or killing. Harper's Magazine says "Where are the Watchmen: What happened to the Christian intellectuals"? I don't know, but I'm not hearing anything from the loudmouth politicians who have been screaming about the Ten Commandments in public buildings. Why is no one mentioning the 6th?

Hitler targeted the Jews for killing. We seem to have the same problem. It seems to me the Texas killer used simple logic and said "If targeted killing is OK, why can't I target a church"?

The Nazis targeted the Jews for killing. Is American public policy the same, just altered to target the latest "demonic" thinkers? Too many Americans seem to only have the capacity to think about being true believers as described by Eric Hoffer, and the true believers believe only in the almighty dollar. What time is it anyway?
