On Second Thought…
I have just discovered, probably later than many of you, a blog called Fred On Everything from which the following comes. In nearly every post Fred Reed makes you rethink your preconceptions, which is something you don’t come across every day. Actually hardly ever.
So bookmark him, okay?
A good reason to vote for Trump, a very good reason whatever his other intentions, is that he does not want a war with Russia. Hillary and her elite ventriloquists threaten just that. Note the anti-Russian hysteria coming from her and her remoras…

It is easy to regard countries as suprahuman beings that think and take decisions and do things. Practically speaking, countries consist of a small number of people, usually men, who make decisions for reasons often selfish, pathologically aggressive, pecuniary, delusional, misinformed, or actually psychopathic in the psychiatric sense. For example, the invasion of Iraq, a disaster, was pushed by the petroleum lobbies to get the oil, the arms lobbies to get contracts, the Jewish lobbies to get bombs dropped on Israel’s enemies, the imperialists for empire, and the congenitally combative because that is how they think. Do you see anything in the foregoing that would matter to a normal American? These do not add up to a well-conceived policy. Considerations no better drive the desire to fight Russia or to force it to back down.
I note, pointlessly, that probably none of America’s recent martial catastrophes would have occurred if we still had constitutional government. How many congressmen do you think would vote for a declaration of war if they had to tell their voters that they had just launched, for no reason of importance to Americans, an attack on the homeland of a nuclear power?
There are lots of reasons not to vote for Clinton and the suppurating corruption she represents. Not letting her owners play with matches rates high among them.
"The Jewish lobbies?"
Maybe, just possibly, there were one or two lobbies representing a particular political faction in Israel, but you'd have to make a case even of that before I'd buy it. Instead, Fred —and and now you by uncritically reprinting him — have ignited a torch for anti-Semitism. Nice going. I'll bookmark Fred when I start bookmarking Holocaust deniers and KKK lynching parties.
Amazing where you'll find bigotry these days. Generally I enjoy reading Bad Attitudes, but I find this post disgusting.
Yours very crankily,
The New York Crank
Bad Attitudes is bad assed as the kids would say.
Cranky. There is a very powerful Jewish Lobby operating in and strongly influencing American foreign policy toward the desires of Israel's crazy far Right, Bibi n Co. To deny that is just silly or willfully blind. It is not in the least Anti-Semitic to describe reality as it exists. Israel's far Right endangers the long term survival of the Jewish state with their policies that constantly humiliate, beat down & mistreat a growing Palestinian population. It's no way to build peace. If u constantly kick at a dog, it will bite u back. Count on it Crank.
Was going to say that it w Hill and Trump it will be difficult to suppurate the very bad from the horrible.
Good on all of you. That's why I recommended Fred Reed's stuff. It gets your brain (mine, anyway) off its dead ass. I only agree with him maybe 75% of the time, but the 25% gets me thinking. Read his anti-Muslim rant for example.
Another reason not to attack Russia, as if we should need one, is that there are quite a few sources saying that The Russian Bear is not going to play that whole scorched-earth, defense-in-depth game any more. The slightest incursion over the border may result in immediate escalation to nukes, probably first (if we're lucky) on the foolish countries that are hosting our antimissile installations, with more to follow if we don't stop.
"Cranky. There is a very powerful Jewish Lobby operating in and strongly influencing American foreign policy toward the desires of Israel's crazy far Right, Bibi n Co."
So listen up, Doolittle. There is a certainly lobby, consisting in large part of people who are Jewish, trying to influence American foreign policy to favor Netanyahu. But that is different from calling it a Jewish lobby. There are also Jews who favor a much more liberal attitude toward Palestinians, and others who have no opinions.
Suppose, using the same criteria you used, I said "There is a White Christian lobby trying to steer America toward Naziism, restore lynching, and instituting a whiteness test for citizenship." There may well be such a lobby, consisting of KKK and neo-Nazis, all of whom declare themselves to be white Christians. But if I call them a "white Christian lobby" I smear you, and every other Christian regardless of her or her personal beliefs and motivations.
To quote Hillary Clinton, "Words matter." Your choice of words in this matter has been bigoted and racist.
Very crankily yours,l
