Dumber Than a Box of Rocks

To give you an idea of how truly stupid the bipartisan War Party in Congress is, its members are even stupider than the citizenry they pretend to represent:

Sixty-two percent of the public say the United States has no responsibility to do something about the fighting in Syria between government forces and antigovernment groups, while just one-quarter disagree. Likewise, 56 percent say North Korea is a threat that can be contained for now without military action, just 15 percent say the situation requires immediate American action and 21 percent say the North is not a threat at all.

Louis Brown, 50, a poll respondent from Springfield Township, Ohio, said, “We don’t need additional loss of American lives right now.”

In the poll, 4 in 10 Americans cited the economy and jobs as the country’s most important problems, while only 1 percent named foreign policy.

It takes us Americans a while to figure out why we're doing what we're doing. Foreign intervention? Well, we think we can fix things in the rest of the world because it's nice for the nations we "help" and they they're nicer to us in return.

Like, after all these years we still believe that!

Then, of course, there's the possibility that while we're engaged in fixing others' problems, we won't ask our pols to fix our problems. That worked well during the Bush administration.

Our problems? We don't have problems, unless you count the problems created by the other party we don't belong to or vote for.

In the end, it may not be cheaper but it's easier: Let's just blame "terrorists" for our trouble and overlook the fact that, if anyone is a terrorist, it's the person we voted for, paid for, and are now cursing.

"... a broad 70 percent majority favors the use of remotely piloted aircraft, or drones, to carry out bombing attacks against terrorism suspects in foreign countries."

Boom, boom, boom, boom!

And all people hit by drone oder missile strikes are by definition terrorists ...
