Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani's case drew international attention after she was sentenced to die by stoning for adultery.

“This lady is accused of two crimes,” Hojatoleslam Sharifi, the judiciary chief of Eastern Azarbaijan province, told reporters at a news conference on Monday, the semi-official Iran Student’s News Agency reported. “One is adultery which is punishable by stoning to death, and the other is assisting in her husband’s murder. She is currently serving 10 years for helping to kill her husband.”

He said “we did not have the needed facility for stoning…

Heck, I can understand that. I know a guy here, not so great state of Georgia, he killed a guy (cold blooded murder, his own attorney told me) he only served five years for manslaughter and he bragged about it, so yea, I can understand that..I know people in the same not so great state doing more time than that for marijuana. I understand completely,

A truly civilized country always has the facilities for punishing trivial offenses. The Iranians have some catching up to do. Our drug laws and investment in prisons could be their guide.

This shows that there is obviously no alternative but to immediately launch massive air strikes on Iran.

It's interesting that we don't hear much about the men who are stoned to death. It's an interesting headline bias that seems to permeate the west.
