Vile Shameless Losers

Joe Klein seems to be a tad put off by the current crop of Republican presidential kinda-sorta-candidates:

This is my 10th presidential campaign, Lord help me. I have never before seen such a bunch of vile, desperate-to-please, shameless, embarrassing losers coagulated under a single partyís banner. They are the most compelling argument Iíve seen against American exceptionalism. Even Tim Pawlenty, a decent governor, canít let a day go by without some bilious nonsense escaping his lizard brain.

Nicely put, except for the part about Pawlenty being a decent governor. After all, this is a guy who prefers letting bridges collapse to raising the taxes necessary to maintain them.

Here is the sad and simple reality of our current political landscape: America has two major political parties. One of them is conservative. The other is insane.

You can decide for yourself which is which...

I don't basically disagree with his assessment, but would someone please tell Joe Klein that the purpose of election campaigns is not to entertain him? If he is tired of doing it, he is free to retire or go do something else. I for one would not miss him one bit.

When bridges collapse, Republican contractors get to rebuild them. With nonunion labor, if at all possible, and plenty of cost overruns.

Plus I forgot the no-bid contracts so the taxpayers can be further fleeced by the favored few, for which read big campaign donors.
