Robert Stein at Connecting.the.Dots reminds us of what the late, great Adlai Stevenson once said:
“The hardest thing about any campaign is how to win without proving you’re unworthy of winning.”

When I was still pretty young, I decided that any expression of desire to be President should immediately disqualify the person making it, because they would have to be dangerously mentally unstable even for wanting that much power. I don't suppose it was an original thought; I probably heard something like it somewhere. And it wouldn't work out too well in practice.
