So what's the difference in dollar terms in what she'd get if she went into the male pros and what she'd get if she went into the female pros (assuming there are any femaile pro leauges). And the beat goes on.

To One Fly: No, Beth grew up in Minnesota, specifically the suave, sophisticated Twin Cities banlieues. However she's going to the cornfields of Iowa next year to play for the Hawkeyes.

To Buck: It's just what you suspected. There is a women's pro league, the Women's National Basketball Association. And they pay a tiny, tiny, tiny fraction of NBA salaries. The only consolation the women stars have is that they can make a pretty decent euro overseas. Women's basketball is apparently popular in Europe, and a lot of American stars play there instead of or in addition to the USA.
