“I have to admit, a little grin came across my face when I saw his brains go flying,” Smith said. “He’s been trouble ever since he’s been here. He’s always been trouble.”

The article must have been edited. There's no Smith in it now, and everyone speaks politely of the killer.

Looks that way, Joyful. In yesterday's initial AP version, Smith was a neighbor who watched the killer blow his brains out.
