i've been to that fair ! in the spring of 1986 i bought a fleece from a ram named King Richard, raised by a couple of ladies ; back in California i spun up King Richard and wove a Good Medicine blanket that i still have / it is all really neat curls and whorls from that wonderful ram
Goshen, Connecticut? (There's one in upstate New York, too). Next time drop by and say hello.
I go back to the days of the "hootchie kootchie" show at the fair in the south, pre-porn in America. I was a little young to go, but I heard the stories. I guess the fairs all family now. But the old days of the midway had everything. The best part was not the animal exhibits but the country people who showed up. Going gave you a good look at the weird society the southern population was, at least the white population. The reanants of farming was still there, before industrialized and tree farms mostly took over farms in that area of the South. However, I don't remember any blacks at the fair in the early 1960s.
Goshen New Hampshire is the fair i went to / i was living in Vermont that year
