Monsters I

I’m guessing that a lot of you latte-sipping losers are less familiar with monster truck rallies than you ought to be. My son Mike the photographer is anxious to help out. He took this shot last month at the 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals in Lima, Ohio. More will follow in the days to come, so you will at last be able to talk about monster trucks without making a total fool of yourself.

More more more. I really don't like the buy back a junker for $4500 of taxpayer money program.

That's not a truck - its a fifty-six Chevy Belaire.

Actually, all monster trucks are custom made and then they just bolt a skin on the outside to make them look like they are real trucks. Fact is, no standard truck frame can take the stresses that the drivers put on the trucks. This is a picture of Avenger, the most popular freestyle monster truck in the country. They have molds to make new plexiglass panels for the outside, since the pieces break off so frequently and they have to replace them.
