“Cat and Mouse” would have been too pedestrian…
Posted by: Chuck Dupree on July 17, 2008 6:57 PMOh, I don't know. If I had thought of it I might have yielded to temptation.
Posted by: Jerry Doolittle on July 17, 2008 8:01 PMMy thought was "good mouser!" One of mine, in her sprightlier days, used to tap the mouse off the desk so it could swing free---and be batted until it was vanquished.
Posted by: Joyful Alternative on July 17, 2008 10:54 PMNote that the mouse is "in check" while the nap continues. If the mouse moves away,...well, there could be retribution.
Posted by: Bendra on July 18, 2008 10:19 AMI've been giving this matter some thought, which is way more than it deserves. I didn't spot the obvious title that Chuck did because I didn't see the mouse as a mouse, but as a compositional element and a contrast in texture with the cat. Maybe I should have called it "Mr. Sleek and Mr. Fluffy." On the other hand, maybe not.
Posted by: Jerry Doolittle on July 18, 2008 10:58 AMI'm sure those papers that he's sleeping on are the ones that you are needing. Cats have an unerring sense for sleeping right where you don't want them to be.
Posted by: Lenora on July 18, 2008 11:46 AMI cannot really be said to need anything, Lenora. I get Social Security.
Posted by: Jerry Doolittle on July 18, 2008 1:42 PMAh, yes, I should have remembered. I do like how he's using the clip of the clipboard as a pillow-so resourceful.
Posted by: Lenora on July 18, 2008 2:53 PMSurprised me Jerry.
All this time I thought you were an Apple guy and I see there's a Microsoft mouse on your desk.
