Andante at Collective Sigh has put together a timeline with pictures illustrating the reactions of George W. Bush to Katrina and those of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to the earthquake that struck Sichuan province this week. Take a look. The contrast between Bush and a head of state is, as usual, stunning.
But in China there are no Democrats to worry about. And no Karls to give you advice.
Posted by: Buck on May 18, 2008 4:41 PMBush's approach to huge natural disasters is more along the Burmese line. One of the more ludicrous recent spectacles has been Bush beating up on the junta for not letting help get to their people. Don't I remember that there was lots of foreign aid shipped to help the people of New Orleans and the Bushies either wouldn't allow it to get through or just let it sit there and rot with their typical indifference and incompetence? Help me out, somebody. Didn't something like that happen?
