I do love this picture. Look at that power! That ivy (or whatever it is) is tearing down that tower, destroying the work of the human hand. Inexorable, relentless.

I'm reminded of Nevada Barr's Liberty Falling, in which the forest ranger protagonist is assigned to the national park around the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I don't remember the plot or much else about the book, but I won't forget the description of the grass and weeds and trees infiltrating and then destroying the abandoned pavements and buildings.
