Onward, Satan’s Soldiers…

It only recently occurred to me that the golden arches on McDonald’s were actually the letter M. So no doubt I am the last person in America who failed to decode the title of Bush’s attempt to destroy public education.

My Duh! moment came a few minutes ago when I read this article on a Christo-porno-violence video game in which our little tykes can roam the virtual streets of New York, killing “Catholics, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, gays, and anyone who advocates the separation of church and state — especially moderate, mainstream Christians.”

The game is called Left Behind: Eternal Forces, and it is based on the Christo-porno-violence best-sellers in the Left Behind series — 14 novels written in Christ’s name by two gentle souls named Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye.

For details on these vicious, bloodsoaked novels of the Apocalypse, visit Slacktivist, a blog on which one-time Baptist seminarian Fred Clark undertakes an exegesis of the series. It’s a dirty job, but somebody’s got to do it.

The basic plot line is that good guys like Huckabee and Falwell are zipped up from this earth on a Heavenly Express, leaving behind bad guys like you and me to be forever consumed by flames.

Just as the good child is home- or church-schooled and the bad child is left behind to rot in underfunded, decertified public schools.

Hutson does nothing but lie about the Left Behind game. He had a radio interview here:

...which, like his articles about the game, is nothing more than lie upon lie upon lie. In the interview, he talks about shooting nurses in the head in the game. There is no such thing in the game at all! Additionallly, Hutson mentions several times in his articles about the game that characters shout "Praise the Lord!" when they kill non-Christians. As with everything else Hutson has claimed about this game, that is absolutely false.

After having killed in the Left Behind game you must restore your soul-points by praying.

Nice slogan, isn't it:

Kill and pray, fuck and slay!

Ah, sorry, at second thought I can't imagine the Good Lord Above had fucking in mind when he created man and woman. Must have been carried away by the devil within. Me, I mean, not the Lord, of course.

But yesternight, at evening prayers, He revealed to me that he'd already had a go at the 'kill and pray' slogan before. A Spaghetti Western, you know. Didn't work out as well as the Left Behind thing. These Italians. Catholics. Hardly more than heathens. Don't know how to convey His word.

If I had only known earlier. I wouldn't have become a conscientous objector. Or think of Pilate. If he had known, maybe he wouldn't have just washed his hands afterwards but joined them in prayer. He might even have been remembered as a good Christian then. Killing can be such fun if you pray afterwards.

Man's best friend is his gun. I have it on good authority (No, not the Lord's; Clark & Hutchinson)

By the way, there are some nice lyrics about the apocalypse here:

Hey Jason, you haven't progressed far enough in the game to understand it yet. When you get to level 666 the real fun starts.

From what I see in the WANTED and OFFER Freecycle columns for home-schooling textbooks, home-schooled children are getting atrocious educations that don't include spelling or grammar. The moral training is apparently not any better, given the home-schooling education of the latest mass murderer, the one who shot up the Colorado megachurch.

BTW, what's with the paid armed guard staff at that church? At our church, we have ushers, who shake hands, proffer an order of service, and, when the building is crowded, politely whisper, "Please move over to make more room in this pew." I'm pretty sure they don't pack pistols.
