Soft Hand Luke

Criticized for turning his back on the whole city of New Orleans, Bush didn’t make the same mistake when a tornado hit Americus, Georgia, on Thursday. There he was on Saturday, posing for pictures in a black neighborhood where two died in the storm:

“He’s lifting spirits in a very difficult situation,” said Senator Johnny Isakson, Republican of Georgia, who accompanied Mr. Bush.

One person whose spirits appeared lifted was Felicia Stafford, who said the tornado had blown the roof off her house and ruined its wood floors. “He’s very nice, loving and warm,” she said after meeting Mr. Bush. “He’s got very soft hands.”

Of course he's got soft hands. He's never done an honest day's work in his life.

Reading Bush's pandering to those people in Alabama made me sick. His going on and on about how he will be there for them and help them recover, juxtaposed as it has to be with NOLA 18 months on was disgusting.
