Let the Perp Walk Begin

I won’t link to Firedoglake since their servers stay overloaded, but keep your toes straight, we’re supposed to get a verdict at noon. And Cheney is back in town, just in time.

I'm not going to argue whether what Libby is supposed to have done is right or wrong. I know where most of the readers of this blog stand on that one, thank you very much. But bear with me here. Has it ever occurred to you for even a moment, Buck, that Libby might have sincerely believed that what he was charged with doing was in the best interests of national security and democracy? (Let alone whether he might have been ABSOLUTELY CORRECT in such a belief?)

Nugat, I won't contradict you, Libby really might have believed he was doing the right thing. But I'm also pretty sure he has absolutely no idea what democracy is all about. And he doesn't care either, or about the law. So what does that make him? Simply a criminal.

My new theory after seeing the Cheney Lieberman photo in today's NYT, pg A16 is that if Cheney leaves office before the end of his term (God forbid), Bush appoints Joe as the VP. Joe would sail through confirmation, change his stripes and be the Republican nominee in '08. Maybe I've been slow to catch on to Joe's path but something tells me Joe might tell the ambulance driver he doesn't need to speed if you know what I mean.
