Timothy Evans was convicted and hanged in Great Britain for a crime that was later determined to have been committed by a serial killer named Christie. The resulting public outcry in the case contributed to the abolition of the death penalty in the UK. Judy Collin’s first album featured this song (minus Pete Seeger). The song is relatively unknown and I was quite surprised to find a video of it on YouTube.
