Still nauseous after reading below about America’s Senator, Joe Lieberman? Then try this. (Thanks to the Rude Pundit for the link.) As you read, bear in mind that to this day the vice president of the United States is on the Halliburton payroll. Older members of the class will remember that once upon a time, in the reign of King Richard the Virtuous, a vice president was forced from office just because he took a measly $2,500 bribe from a contractor. In Bushworld, this wouldn’t fix a parking ticket.
The previous world record for official crime and corruption, American division, was held by Ronald Reagan. Measuring by indictments, size of bribes, jail terms, presidents like Warren G. Harding and Ulysses S. Grant didn't even come close. George W. would have blown all of them away (probably combined even) if his loyal henchmen hadn't controlled the Justice Department and the Congress. The Dems only have a couple years to raise the lid enough so that Dubya's legacy of crime will be put on the record. (They won't continue probing once Bush is out; this seems to be considered unsportsmanlike in America's governing circles). Let's hope the Dems can regrow their cojones fast enough to nail down Dubya's true place in history.
Posted by: CCRyder on February 8, 2007 3:33 PMIts something I just can't get my head around. Here I am struggling to keep blogging with a 6 or 7 year old computer that runs like a 1938 Chevy and would be ecstatic if I had a windfall of 5-10k. Hell, a few hundred would do it.
Then I read about these asses being paid or stealing millions and think, I wouldn't know what to do with that much money.
Life ain't fair? Duh!
