Frankly, I Don’t Think He Gives A Damn

From Raw Story, reporting second hand from Roll Call:

Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) said that with better intelligence the South would have won the Civil War, today’s Roll Call is reporting.

Conflicting reports have emerged about what was said, one from a source to Roll Call’s “Heard on the Hill” column, the other from a spokesperson for Chambliss.

According to Roll Call’s source, Chambliss said, “We need better intelligence. If we had better intelligence in the Civil War we’d be quoting Jefferson Davis, not Lincoln.”

Who's the first "we" in that sentence? Perhaps he'd like to find another country to be part of?

Saxby, you need ANY intelligence. Not "better."

"If I only had a brain....."

The South lost not because of "bad intelligence."

It was a better equipped opponent, better arms, better economic base, plus the decision by the Confederation after the first Battle of BullRun not to overrun D.C. Coulda, but not "shoulda."

Because the idea was to invoke the Articles of Con(against)Federation. Withdraw from, not conquer.

Not to "Win." Conquest of The North wasn't the goal, fool.

Sheesh. You make this native Virginian shake my head at your idiocy.

If they had had beteer intelligence, they would not have fought. Frankly, this whole thing is just a bunch of macaca. The South could begin showing that they have grown up by throwing out Allen.
