Opportunity Knocks

Major new analysis by Teixeira of the Democrats’ chances to stop or at least stanch Bush’s nation-weakening in the elections this fall.

Bottom line: the climate is favorable, and the Democrats have an opportunity to return the country to strength, as long as they have the sense and self-confidence to put forth a forceful agenda responsive to the clear anti-Bush majorities on specific big issues, such as opposition to the war and fixing the health care insurance system.

The Republicans seem to want to run on the immigration agenda.
What a whitewash! For six years they've done nothing, except promote cheap labor, but suddenly they're interested in the issue.

Thanks to Bill Clinton, the Democrats can’t really come up with a decent reply. I'm still sticking with Emmma Lazarus, notwithstanding all the rhetoric.
..but there's a good chance we Democrats are going to be stuck with Hillary in 2008.

I'm beginning to believe that sitting out 2008 might be the option I take. 2006 might make things interesting and change the whole landscape.
Let's hope so.

If the polls are right, Hillary is the only option for 2008. And I'm sure she'll lose. But we can't be concerned about her for now. We need 2006. We have to prevent Bush's having those last 2 years to continue his insanity. He's a short-timer and has short-timer's attitude. No matter what he causes, he knows he'll be gone and someone else has to clean up the mess.

Hillary? Oh, you are talking about arbitrary monarchy.
Unfortunately, the republican branch of this monarchy seems to be much mor prolific than the democratic one.
But, sorry, didn't think about the Kennedys.
Forget them.
Long live King George II!

Eh, George II Washington, that is.
