Tax tables prepared by the Treasury show that a married couple with two children and income of $40,000 last year could have saved $630 on their federal income taxes if they made a $5,000 contribution to a health savings account. But the same family making the same contribution would have saved $1,500 if they had income of $120,000, the tables show.
